How to Camp and Sleep Well at Music Festivals

Music festival season is just around the corner, and there are some things that most beginners fail to look at. It is quite an overwhelming experience that requires ample amount of preparation time. Camping at a music festival is not a walk in the park. If you forget to bring the necessary materials, such as the appropriate camping swags, it can take a turn for the worse.

With that being said, here are a few tips and tricks on how to prepare yourself for music festival camping.

1. Sleeping Arrangements

First things first, if you don’t have an RV, you have to select the right kind of tent that will acclimate to any weather. Choose among the many camping swags and find something that can keep you cool enough to let you sleep through the early mornings while protecting you from unexpected rains.

2. Heap of Blankets

Don’t rely too much on the tent alone, bring an air mattress or a stack of blankets to keep you comfortable. Pushing yourself through the crowd just to get a glimpse of your favorite band would require you to have energy and a good rest. You wouldn’t want to be too tired to enjoy yourself at the music festival.

3. Portable Phone Charger

In today’s technological age, we can’t live without our cellular phones. When you’re camping or attending a music festival, it is without a doubt that you will take hundreds and hundreds of photos. Always bring a portable charger so as to not miss anything important – and to keep yourself connected through social media.

4. Clothes for Any Climate

Check the weather reports before planning which clothes to bring. On top of that, always be ready to accommodate changes in the weather. Bring layers, jackets, long sleeves, tank tops, shorts, short sleeves, rain jacket, and even a poncho – just to be safe!

5. Food and Drinks

You will need your energy to keep up with the crowd. Music festivals typically have food tents and carts available – but keep in mind that it will always be packed. Plus, it will cost you a little more than your average meal. If you don’t want to break your bank, you can always pack your own food.

6. Stay Hydrated

Every camping expert would know that water should be the number one priority when camping at a music festival. Bring enough water to keep you hydrated over the weekends. While some festivals offer drinkable water, it’s better always to come prepared.

7. Sunscreen

Depending on which music festival you’ll go, most of the time, it would be really hot. A great number of music festivals are held in the desert. Therefore, sunscreen is a must. It doesn’t take a genius to figure this out – if you’re out in the sun all day, you need sunscreen.

8. Mosquito Repellent

No one wants to get eaten alive by mosquitos. Bring a repellent to keep them away and to ensure that you have a good night’s sleep.

If you are geared with the right camping accessories, there is a high chance that you wouldn’t have to worry too much when camping. With these tips in mind, you can truly prepare for the worst case scenarios at a music festival.
