The all-new Mahindra XUV 300 is expected to be offered in both 5-seater and 7-seater versions. It will be launched as a sub-4 metre SUV, which will be based on the Tivoli SUV that was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. Striking exterior styling

The India-bound Mahindra XUV 300 is a compact SUV based on the SsangYong X100 platform, which also underpins the Tivoli SUV. The front fascia of the car will be modified by the Mahindra itself to give it an aggressive look. The new front grille, sculpted bonnet, headlamps with LED DRLs and reframed bumper with fog lamps adds plenty to the striking design of the car. The rear spoiler and LED tail-lights complement well to the overall design of the SUV.

Feature-packed cabin

The interior of the XUV 300 will be shared with its bigger sibling, packed with all modern features for your comfort and convenience. The major attraction of the model is its all-new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The seats will be upholstered in fine fabrics and will be full automatically air-conditioned. All in all, the interior of the car will be a delight to be in.

Powerful engine

The upcoming Mahindra XUV 300 will be offered in both diesel and petrol guise. Latest reports suggest that the SUV will get the option of an all-new 1.2-litre turbocharged engine that claims to produce a maximum power output of 140 bhp, though exact numbers are yet to be revealed by the manufacturer. On the other side, the diesel version will be driven by a 1.5-litre turbocharged motor that manages to produce a maximum power of 125 bhp.

The petrol version of the new XUV 300 is expected to return a mileage of 17-18 kmpl, whereas the diesel model will deliver around 21-22 kmpl.

Good handling feature

The all-new Mahindra XUV 300 will get disc brakes on all the wheels further aided by ABS for efficient braking. In terms of handling, the car will be equipped with McPherson type front suspension with anti-roller and Multi-Link type rear suspension.

Safe drive

Mahindra had worked extensively to provide the upcoming SUV with high-end security and safety features. The car will get dual front airbags, besides the ABS (anti-lock braking system) with Electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) as standard across the variants. On the other end, the top-end variant will additionally get side airbags, Hill assist, rear parking sensor and ESP (Electronic Stability Programme).


Mahindra has positioned the upcoming Mahindra XUV 300 above the TUV 300 in the company’s portfolio. It is expected to be priced starting at Rs. 8 lakh for base variant and may go up to Rs. 11 lakh for the top-end trims. It will be slotted against the likes of Tata Nexon, MarutiVitaraBrezza and Ford EcoSport. It will be the fourth SUV from the manufacturer and is expected to be received well in the market.
